Event Musings: Speed Friending!

Hello everyone! We really hope that you all have been having a fantastic start to term!

On Wednesday 20 January, we were delighted to put on our first event of Hilary Term: Speed Friending, hosted by our wonderful Diversity Secretary, Ajantha! The event was terrific and we thank you all so very much for coming along!

Please find here some words from Ajantha about the event:

“Speedfriending was run over Zoom with Clarendons coming together virtually from all over Oxford and the world to meet, chat, and remember what it used to be like to socialise! We ended up settling on groups of 2-4 people in breakout rooms for periods of 10-15 minutes per session for everyone to be able to introduce and have a quick chat before being mixed into a room with new people. With around 30 people in attendance over the course of 2 hours, we had just enough time for most people to be able to meet everyone else and by all accounts, everyone really enjoyed the chance to catch up for the start of term 🙂 It was a pleasure to run and I hope to see people again at more events this year!" - Ajantha Abey, Clarendon Council Diversity Secretary.
