Winter Holidays 2020
Things may have looked a little different this holiday season, but that did not stop Clarendon Scholars from finding ways to celebrate in line with the local restrictions of the day.
For those remaining in Oxford, physically-distanced meetups before Christmas allowed for socializing outside with gift exchanges and Christmas treats. Participants were kept warm with quintessentially British mince pies and a beverage of choice - mulled wine or decadent gourmet hot-chocolate with double cream. Although like many residents of the U.K., updated guidelines put an end to our Christmas Dinner plans, we were happy to see Scholars going out of their way to make sure friends and colleagues weren't lonely over the break. A huge thank you to our Social Secretaries for thinking of creative and responsible initiatives to support this.
We finished the holiday season on a high note by attending the Berliner Philharmoniker’s 2020 New Year’s Eve digital concert - a real treat bringing international sounds from musicians led by chief conductor Kirill Petrenko into our own homes.
The new Clarendon Council is looking forward to the term ahead and wishing everyone and their families the very best for the start of 2021!
