Time: 2pm, Saturday, 5th October 2024

Meeting point: Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Rd, Oxford OX2 6GG

Join your fellow Freshers on the Uncomfortable Oxford: Hidden Histories Tour—one of the best ways to explore the city! Led by experienced Oxford student tour guides, this 1.5-hour journey through Oxford delves into the past to illuminate how women have historically navigated urban spaces and family life, examines how masculinities have both shaped and been shaped by the university, and explores queer experiences within the city.

Together, you will analyze the urban landscape, discuss gendered geographies, and challenge societal expectations. This is a tour you definitely don’t want to miss! The tour is wheelchair accessible, but please note some mildly uneven pavement and crowding in the city centre, especially on weekends. The total distance walked during each tour is less than one mile. Each tour includes moments for sitting/leaning against walls, and toilets are available at certain points along the routes.

Tickets for this event can be resold to other Freshers at the original price up until 24h before the event. Any and all changes/reselling of tickets has to be communicated to the Fresher's Team at clarendon.scholars@gmail.com
